My Google-connected tools
I run small tools that connect to Gmail and Google Calendar through Google's OAuth sign-in. They are for my own accounts only and are not offered to the public.
Gmail
- What they access. The Gmail data the granted scopes allow: reading messages and threads, and creating drafts. They do not send mail.
- How it is used. To search, read and summarize my mail and to prepare drafts that I review and send myself.
- Where it is stored. OAuth tokens are kept in the operating system's encrypted keyring on computers I own. Message content is fetched when needed and is not kept in a separate database.
Google Calendar
- What it accesses. Read and write access to my calendar events.
- How it is used. To keep a local copy of my calendar in sync and to create, change or delete events when I ask an assistant to.
- Where it is stored. The OAuth token is kept in a file readable only by my user account (mode 600) on a computer I own. Events are synced to local
.icsfiles on that computer; Google Calendar stays the source of truth.
Who else sees it
When I use an AI assistant to read my mail or calendar, or to draft mail or events, the relevant content is sent to that assistant's model provider (currently Anthropic and DeepInfra) to carry out the request. It is not sold, not shared with anyone else, and not used for advertising.
The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Access can be revoked at any time from your Google Account's third-party connections. Revoking it invalidates the stored token.
